The Problem
Let’s face it.  Most of us are lousy at picking good leaders.

Not that we don’t care.  Obviously we do, especially when the stakes are high.  Whether it’s a matter of recruiting a new CEO or senior executive, or trying to decide whom to promote into a key position, most groups expend an enormous amount of resources in order to make their selection.  Why, then, do so many of them fail to get it right?  Are there simply not enough good leaders to go around?

The Real Problem
There are enough good leaders to go around—that’s not the problem.  The real problem lies in the process of choosing and developing them.  Most groups do not know how to accurately evaluate leadership potential.  Instead, they focus on false predictors of leadership success—on a candidate’s education, charisma, personality, style, or track record in an unrelated field.  At best, this approach tells only half the story.   And then, once a new leader is hired, organizations are terrible at giving him or her the kind of development plan that is required to excel in the position.

The Solution
We formed LIAG to bridge this gap.  We help your organization do a better job of evaluating potential leaders before they are promoted.  We create the kind of customized leadership development agendas that will ensure that they succeed.  We provide succession plans that let your board of directors rest easy knowing that the organization has a deep bench of leadership talent across all key positions.
